Frequently asked questions

What does ATS-friendly actually mean?

Applicant tracking systems parse a resume into fields before a human sees it. They cope badly with multi-column layouts, text inside images, unusual fonts, headers and footers, and tables. These templates use a single column, standard section headings and plain text, which parses cleanly.

How is the ATS score calculated?

It checks the things that actually break parsing or lose you a match: contact details present, standard section headings, measurable achievements, an appropriate length, action verbs rather than passive phrasing, and whether skills appear as plain keywords. Each check explains what to fix.

How long should a resume be?

One page up to about eight years of experience, two pages beyond that. Three pages is almost always a sign that early roles are being described in more detail than anyone needs. The tool warns you when the preview overflows a page.

What is JSON Resume?

An open schema for resume data. Exporting to it means your content is not locked in this tool: you can render it with other themes, keep it in version control, or import it back later.

Is my personal data uploaded?

Only to your own account. A resume contains your address, phone number and employment history, so the draft is saved in this browser and to your private account on the CRMTECH server, never to a third party. The PDF itself is produced in your browser.
